What you can use as an address for Full Time RV- Lot’s of options in the U.S.

A full time address can be your rental lot at your campground. Should you choose to stay full time in a specific campground, it’s an address. You can put your kids in school, send paperwork and all the other legal things because, it has a physical address and a unit number.

You can also use a close personal and very nice friend or family member that will allow it. Some people are weird about things like this. If not, you can get into that mailbox.

If your friend or family member cannot help you out or you need to manage your mail quickly you can use a service such as:

A mail service for full time RV that may allow for you to have a physical address and someone managing and sending your mail to you such as:

TravelMailbox has the most addresses I have seen out of all mail services. They offer physical addresses all over the u.s. It’s great for someone who wants to keep and use the drivers license & insurance they already have. You will only need to fill out a form allowing them to take over your mail.

Escapees RV club will allow you to have a physical address in Texas, Florida or South Dakota. So, you can actually have legal documents and your license renewals etc…

Good Sam will alow for an address for people who live in Florida or atleast have

proof of address, drivers license etc.. from the state of Florida.

America’s Mailbox for South Dakota. This one is super simple compared to everywhere else in the U.S and has a ton of tax break benefits. You only have to spend ONE night in South Dakota, have a SD drivers license which can be obtained by a receipt of stay from an rv park or hotel and your address given to you by America’s Mailbox.

MyRvMail has the same requirements as Good Sam for residency in Florida

Dakota Post works the same way America’s Mailbox works as far as residency in South Dakota

Address you cannot use for residency

P.O boxes. You will not be able to use a P.O box for any legal documents, loans, career or otherwise. You will need a physical address that belongs to a residence or business.

Of course you can have one for letters from Nana and Amazon but it just doesn’t work for anything you need it to.

What is the benefit of changing your address when you’re fulltime RV?

If you find yourself living in a state that has no Income tax, this may be beneficial to you to keep an address in that state or acquire one such as Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wyoming.

States that do not have sales tax are Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon.

If you live in Alaska or New Hampshire you have less taxes than other states. These states would be a good place to keep an address or get a new one.

However, if you do keep an address, as a citizen you owe that state a vote (if a registered voter), insurance, vehicle registrations and drivers license renewal.

Obtaining residency in most states you’ll have to prove a length of stay or some sort of contribution.

For some states it’s 6-7 months to a year or you voted the previous election, filed your taxes or have a kid(s) in school to will allow you a claim for residency in a new state.

Having a residence is very important to the state due to taxes. Yes, folks you need to be tracked so you can pay the government and the state properly.

Create residency that will help you cooperate with the law and provide sufficient documentation for your personal belongings while you are living FT in your RV.

Summary:

Managing mail seems like the past in a lot of ways, there isn’t much that you cannot do on line but in the circumstance that you need to keep up with your legal documents, you do. It’s nice to know that there are companies out there that are flexible if you don’t have anywhere else for it to go.
